Welcome to King Abdulaziz Public Library


King Abdul Aziz Public Library, the charitable institution established by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the fifth of Rajab (1405 AH / 1985 CE), and inaugurated - may God have mercy on him - on the tenth of Rajab (1408 AH) corresponding to (2/1987) 27 AD), with the aim of taking care of the affairs of the book and its beneficiaries. The library system was completed with the issuance of the High Approval No. A / 36 dated 2/4/1417 AH to establish a charitable institution in the name of the King Abdulaziz Public Library. The aim of establishing this charitable institution was to provide sources of human knowledge, organize them, facilitate their use, and make them accessible to researchers and scholars. The library is currently a fully-fledged structure consisting of advanced equipment, modern systems and various information containers to facilitate the access of researchers and scholars to the treasures of Arab and foreign knowledge.The library provides excellent library and information services at the highest standards for women and children through a women's library and a children's library at its headquarters and the same in the Al Murabba branch. The library has a distinct interest in documenting the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the history of King Abdulaziz in particular, as the library has the honor to bear his name. It also makes every effort to monitor the Arab and Islamic heritage and contribute to its revival and production in line with the spirit of the age and its requirements. The library has distinguished scientific and cultural activities that contribute to community service by holding seminars, lectures and exhibitions, participating in religious, national and social events, supporting the scientific research movement, writing, translation and publishing, developing a child's culture, and providing information services to women. The library has strong relationships with information institutions inside and outside the Kingdom.The library was honored to implement large cultural projects such as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation, the Unified Arab Index, the Arab Digital Library, the Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the National Project for Renewing the Link to the Book.

 

King Abdulaziz Public Library aims to achieve the following goals:

1- Providing and organizing all intellectual production vessels, including books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and manuscripts in various fields of knowledge.

2- Attention to compiling intellectual, Arab and foreign production and documenting it in all its forms from periodicals and research related to the history of King Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, and the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in general.

3- Spreading knowledge, culture and science, especially Arab and Islamic ones, and paying attention to Arab and Islamic heritage, and contributing to its revival and renewal.

4- Providing library services, translation and scientific publishing in the fields of Arab and Islamic sciences to achieve the development of scientific research in the Kingdom.

5- Supporting the movement of authorship, translation and scientific publishing in the fields of Arab and Islamic sciences in order to achieve the development of scientific research in the Kingdom.

6- Contributing to community service by organizing cultural and scientific lectures and seminars, holding exhibitions and festivals, and participating in them.

7- Building and documenting intellectual, Arab and foreign production in the fields of horses and equestrian to support specialized research and studies in this field.
